Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs

Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug resources and information is available from the Isanti County Public Health resource library.  To look through or borrow materials, please stop by the office or call Matt @ 763-689-8265.

 

Carseat Program

Isanti County Public Health has contracts with  Ucare MN and Medica both are  insurance companies that provide one free car seat to their members.  To find out if you qualify for a free car seat call the phone number on the back of your insurance card.   For Medica car seat eligibility please call 1-866-455-7426.

Isanti County Public Health also provides a Certified Car seat Technician who is available to answer car seat questions and provide car seat safety check-ups.

Child Care Education                

Isanti County Public Health provides child care education classes (as needed) on a variety of topics including:

          *  Car seats

          *  CPR & First Aid

          *  Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS)

          *  Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

Class fees are nominal.  To register for a class, please call Matt @ 763-689-8265. 

 

CPR– Basic Life Support & First Aid              

Isanti County Public Health provides CPR– Basic Life Support and First Aid education classes (as needed) for a nominal fee.  To register for a class, please call Matt @ 763-689-8265. 

 

General Health Promotion

Health promotion resources: pamphlets, videos, PowerPoint's, and live presentations on a variety of health related topics are available by contacting Matt @ 763-689-8265.

 

Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP)

The Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP) is a grant provided to each county in MN focusing on the reduction of obesity and tobacco use through better nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco cessation opportunities.  The work is focused in the following areas:  Community, Health Care setting, Schools and Worksites.  For more information on SHIP please call Matt @ 763-689-8265.

TeenAge Parenting Program (TAPP)              

The TeenAge Parenting Program (TAPP) is run in collaboration with the District #911 Area Learning Center (ALC).  TAPP I is for pregnant teens (moms and dads-to-be) to learn about what to expect during their pregnancy, labor and delivery and the first few days after birth.  The ALC also provides a TAPP II class for after birth and parenting education.

Toward Zero Deaths (TZD)

Isanti County Public Health is part of the Isanti County Toward Zero Deaths coalition.  This coalition is dedicated to making the roads safer in Isanti County.  The coalition works collectively to improve passenger safety from all aspects including distracted driving, to drunk driving, to increased seatbelt use and beyond.
