Lead Testing   

Lead poisoning is a concern for people of all ages.  Home lead information can be found at the Minnesota Department of Health website at www.health.state.mn.us.

 

Nuisance Complaints                

A Public Health nuisance is defined in Minnesota State Statute chapter 145A.02, subdivision 17, as “any activity or failure to act that adversely affects the public health of citizens.” 

Public Health nuisance complaints can be made directly to Isanti County Public Health by calling 763-689-4071.

 

Radon                 

Radon is a colorless, odorless radio-active gas that occurs naturally in the environment.  When high levels of radon are present indoors, people are exposed to a higher levels of radiation and therefore can increase their risk of developing cancer. 

There are ways to protect yourself and your family from radon exposure.  The easiest way is through radon testing.  Isanti County Public Health sells short term radon test kits for $5.00 each.  Please stop by the office to pick yours up today!

Tattoo and Body Piercing Ordinance

Isanti County Tattoo and Body Piercing Ordinance #368432 requires all tattoo and body piercing establishments to be licensed and have annual inspections by the state/county to ensure health and safety requirements.   

Isanti County tattoo and body piercing licenses run on a calendar year with notices of renewal sent out in November.  To apply for a tattoo and body piercing license or for questions about renewal, please contact Isanti County Public Health @ 763-689-4071.

 

Tobacco Ordinance

Isanti County Tobacco Ordinance #258694 requires all retail tobacco dealers to be licensed with the county and provide comprehensive training of their staff to prevent sale of tobacco products to minors. 

Isanti County tobacco licenses run on a calendar year with notices of renewal sent out in November.  To apply for a tobacco license or for questions about renewal, please contact Isanti County Public Health @ 763-689-4071.

 

Water Testing

Well water test kits can be ordered directly through East Central Water Testing at 612-390-9061. Public Health does offer testing for Nitrates and Coliform only. Test kits are available on a sliding-fee scale, please call Public Health at 763-689-4071 for more information.
